kausable is a Heidelberg-based DeepTech AI startup building a reasoning-first causal world model – frontier AI that learns rapidly from little data and adapts to new contexts on its own, without the constant, costly retraining that today's systems depend on. The company grew out of the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Heidelberg University, the same research environment that produced Black Forest Labs. kausable has developed TipPFN, a zero-shot model that forecasts rare, high-impact "black swan" events in complex dynamic systems, with applications across robotics, medicine, energy and finance. Its causal reasoning architecture has been validated in a joint research paper with Columbia University. Founded in 2025 by Johannes Haux (CEO), Dr. Benjamin Herdeanu (CTO) and Gregor Ramien (COO), kausable is built on the conviction that Europe can and should build frontier AI.
