Patronus Raises $7m Seed Round To Build Digital Tools For Better Elderly Healthcare

Berlin, 25 May 2022 – Patronus, a Berlin-based healthcare startup, has raised $7m to build digital tools for the elderly and their carers. The oversubscribed seed funding round was joined by Cavalry Ventures and DN Capital as well as renowned business angels such as Hanno Heintzenberg and Lukas Pieczonka (Co-Founders at McMakler and MAYD), Emanuel Pallua (Founder at Foodora), Johannes Roggendorf (Co-Founder at Medwing) and Christopher Muhr (COO at AUTO1, Founder at Patient21).

23 million people in Germany will be 65 years or older by 2035. It’s the fastest-growing segment of the population. At the same time, the number of people who can care for them is declining. In order to avoid a collapse of this inter-generational contract, there’s an urgent need for digital tools to increase the efficiency of elderly care. But how can this be done with a notoriously hesitant target group?

We are thrilled to finally reveal that Patronus Group is part of the UVC Partners portfolio. We support them on their mission to make #elderlycare more efficient. Starting with an emergency software for elderly users, they are solving the user adoption challenge in digital elderly care. Now they’re expanding their user base to family carers and other stakeholders to build a comprehensive collaboration software for everyone who cares for an elderly person.

In a seed round that was closed in fall 2021, the stellar team behind Ben Staudt and Tim Wagner raised $7m from UVC Partners, Cavalry Ventures, and DN Capital as well as angels Hanno Heintzenberg, Lukas Pieczonka, Christopher Muhr, Johannes Roggendorf and many more. We are excited to work together!

Patronus Group is operating across Germany and is already improving the lives of thousands of elderly users and their closest caregivers.
